The Green House opens each year on Mother's Day Weekend. Just in time to buy that special someone something special.
Our greenhouses are brimming full of flowers. Each spring starting in April, groups and individuals come to plant up their flowerpots. It is a great way to ensure baskets of flowers in the colors you have chosen when you come back in May to pick them up. Babysitting flowers is something we are very good at. All our pots are planted with slow release fertilizer and proven winner plants. This makes our plants last longer at your home.
What else will you find in our greenhouses?
- Herbs – We have been sending cut herbs to the farmers market for a number of years. Last year we sent herbs in pots so you could cut your own fresh herbs when you needed them. This year we have expanded the choice of herbs available in pots.
- Bedding plants – all the flowers we use for our baskets are available for sale individually
- Unique flower hanging baskets and pots
- Vegetable transplants from varieties that grow well in central Alberta such as artichokes, cucumbers, lettuce, pumpkins, etc.
- Tomato plants
- Lettuce gardens – these pots with different colors and kinds of lettuce are perfect for the person with no garden space
- Strawberry plants
- Raspberry canes
- Lily bulbs – both Oriental and Asiatic bulbs. Both of these lily types over winter in the ground in Alberta. Oriental have the beautiful scent that floats through your whole yard when they are open.

In 2006, we tried our first fall garden mums. These pots of flowers continued to bloom to the end of October. The colors are stunning. Garden mums will take cold weather and still look great. These flowers are perfect for decks and steps to decorate you home for harvest.
